About Michael

Michael has experience in visual arts, graphic design, and higher education and has continually aspired to learn. This experience has led him to create a python program that helped import rubrics to LMS, create web pages and jquery elements for websites, design interactive flows, create educational and promotional videos, visualize data with infographics, and work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop online courses.

Experience as an instructional designer, teacher, and artist has a parallel to UX/UI. This happens through a variety of avenues but can be seen on how users visually navigate information architectures.

I link UX/UI design to creating pottery in that there are many steps towards creating a finished product, but each decision is important. To illustrate this, consider the shape of a ceramic vessels. There is a foot at the bottom and a lip at the top. If the foot and lip are fixed, there is an infinite number of options and design considerations between the foot and the lip. Once a choice is made, the design can be tested and evaluated. This informs the next iteration, and the cycle continues.
